As mentioned in previous blogs, in area D6 we mainly uncovered the continuation of the floor from D7 / E7. There was an area, where we only found few remains on the floor and then another concentration of pottery. After previously finding most of the floor covered with goods, it’s nice to know that there was also some vacant space in this room.
Further conclusions about the floor will have to await detailed analysis of the remains. And we know that a greater exposure would also help. That’s what we want to do in future years.
Meanwhile here’s a link to a 3D view of the square. It’s a pdf file that doesn’t load in all browsers. Therefore, it may be better to download it and then view it. To zoom, hold down the right mouse button. To tilt, hold down the left mouse button. To move (left, right, up, down), hold down both mouse buttons. You probably will have to start by zooming out.
